Yahoo's Destination of the Month is set to become a regular feature on the travel site and to get the ball rolling, we're starting with a fabulous spot that's close to home – the Coromandel Peninsula.
Known for its beautiful beaches, great fishing, and talented, arty types, it has no problem attracting visitors and in summer the region's population skyrockets.
Cathedral Cove, by the beach town of Hahei, is one of the most photographed sites in the country and Hot Water Beach is no longer a hidden gem.

But leaving the obvious aside, what we're after are some hot tips on places worth a visit on your next trip.
This is where you come in.
Whether you know of great cafes, shops, hotels, restaurants, beaches, walks – or just a spotless public toilet – share your recommendations with us so we can pass them on.
Put your tips – and keep them short and sweet – in the comments section below, or email ynzdestinations@yahoo.co.nz
We're also after photos that really capture the essence of a Coromandel holiday. *Send them in and we'll use the best ones to create an epic Coromandel photo gallery at the end of the month.

Camping at Port Jackson is just the best. Right on the beach, far far away from any civilization, nice safe beach for the kiddies, great fishing, great hiking, can'g go wrong!
ReplyThe greatest place on earth! As soon as you hit the Coromandel you seem to enter another time and space. We have a little place in Matarangi, and it's just like heaven. And yes, we even love the winding roads. It's just a part of what makes it so special! Best spot on the Coromandel? ALL of them!!!
