We recently had to travel to Ohaeawai for a family bereavement and stayed at the Hotel. The publican Raymond, was the most friendly and co-operative publican that I have dealt with in many years. Made you feel most welcome the moment you got there, we arrived late in the evening, had put heater on in our room, gave us a guided tour of the amenities, provided tea, coffee & toast at no extra charge. Our room was clean tidy, wonderful comfy beds. We were told to vacate at our leasure, certainly don't get that in Auckland. My 13 year old daughter didn't want to come home. Thanks for the great hospitality Ray. If you are reading this review and intend to travel North make sure you stay at the Ohaeawai, we certainly will again. Best accomodation that money could buy.
