Ocean Waves Motel & Apartments

Tired, old facility at 30 Marine Parade. Owner deliberately avoided meeting us to address its failings - he offered by phone message not to charge us for our remaining nights if we vacated by midday. Priced high because of a great view and spa bath. Advertised as "deluxe" it also included a sunshade awning (not working); extractor fan over cooking facilities (not working); kitchen waste disposer (not working) electrical problems with lighting (4 lights not working); cracked toilet seat cover; showerhead that ran like a tap - no spray; missing cap on heated towel rail, exposing the heating element; draughty doors which let in the strong winter offshore wind; distribution board cover lying on the floor with exposed fuses; and NO SMOKE ALARM. The bed was OK. Our advice - avoid this place, and also its sister motel at 74 Marine Parade with the same owner.
