Riverbend Cottages

I adored Riverbend Cottages. I cannot recommend it highly enough. i stayed there a week over the new year period and enjoyed every minute. The entire place is so homely and the hosts make you feel really welcome. The room I had was comfortable (the bed especially so) and the river! Just what you need on a hot east coast day. The place is about twenty minutes drive from Gisborne, which isn't that far at all. Plus it makes for easy access to places like Mahia and the Rere Falls - both of which I recommend. There were lots of highlights at the Riverbend, but the breakfasts in particular were wonderful. I don't know how Helen and Harry did it, but every morning they outdid themselves.
