Hi, My name is Elena from Austria, and I have done two workshops offered by Creative Tourism New Zealand in the past few weeks. They are a great means to connect with real kiwi culture. I actually crafted my own souvenirs, weaving a little kete (NZ flax basket) and carving my own piece of bone in Maori tradition. During my travels, I am looking forward to doing a lot more still - learning how to cook traditional Kiwi Pavlova for instance, or walking the native bush forests during an interactive ecocultural tour. It's simply so much better than the standard tourist experience, and signing up for the workshops is easy - just ring the tutor and fix a time and date. Hands-on, fun and great value for money!!
