Standing proudly on the waterfront, the Boat Shed is Nelson's best known restaurant. With it's polished floors and astonishing sea views, its difficult to believe that sometime in the late 1880s this was a base for boat building.
With extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus there is no shortage of choice. The wine list is truly exceptional with a selection to rival any. Enjoy the excellent service and atmosphere - everyone is welcome. The Boat Shed prides itself on providing a true 'Nelson Experience'.
Try the slow braised beef cheeks & medium rare seared wagu sirloin with potato gratin, green pea couli finished with tomato & sundried olive salsa topped with a steamed Koura (freshwater crayfish). Or perhaps the Pantagonian tooth fish served on a chickpea, ginger & coriander fritter with sautéed bok choi & crispy pulled duck confit drizzled with a herb oil & aged balsamic. Whatever the selection, the Boat Shed has something to delight.
