On entering the Motueka River Lodge you will see that nothing has been left to chance. Designed to harmonize with the surrounding countryside, its sunlit verandas, large comfortable lounge, huge open fireplaces and spacious country kitchen offer guests relaxation in style and comfort.

The five bedroom lodge, built in 1989 to the design of local architect Min Hall, is finished in a cob-like sand cement and fits comfortably into its imposing hillside setting. Homely guest rooms reflect the tranquillity of the surroundings and from the lodge's elegant, country style interior there are spectacular views in every direction. All guest rooms have private bathrooms and wonderful views of the valley....

Included in your reservation charge is a beautifully prepared 4 course evening meal, using fresh local ingredients - where possible these are picked straight from our very own kitchen garden. Also included is your cooked breakfast and all on site activities.

Things to do: The Motueka River is fast developing a reputation as a brown trout fishery of international importance. Drift dive surveys confirm the fact that the river has one of the highest per kilometre fish counts in New Zealand. For those not interested in the gentle art of fly fishing, the Motueka area has plenty of other interests, some strenuous some not so strenuous….such as hiking and bush walks in and about the famous Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks, white water rafting, golf, bird watching, tennis, lying around on our beautiful beaches or you can go horse trekking with experienced guides. the Nelson region is well know for its colourful mixture of artists, musicians and cafes. We will happily arange an itinery to make your stay even more pleasurable.
