The new waterfront boutique lodge the "No Road Inn" is the first accommodation on the Queen Charlotte Track.

A 5 hrs walk from the beginning of the track at Ship Cove the quality NO ROAD INN is perfect as your track accommodation, with a well deserved hot tub awaiting you.

The inn is on a waterfront site on the only privately owned land in Queen Charlotte Sound where virgin native forest meets the sea. The No Road Inn provides quality accommodation in 4 xos double/twin rooms all with ensuites, large decks with outdoor settings, sea and bush views, and each room has its own kitchenette with coffee plunger,toaster,sink and minibar.

We have bbqs,hammocks, an outdoor woodfired oven, a hangi pit, dingy, kayaks and a hot tub made from a 100yr old totara wine barrel set over a creek in the native bush all for the exclusive enjoyment of guests staying at the No Road Inn. A continental breakfast is included in the tarrif. Lunch, dinner and refreshments are available for house guests.

Getting There: THERE ARE NO ROADS TO THE NO ROAD INN. Access is by Watertaxi, Helicopter, Floatplane or Shank's pony. The No Road Inn is: 40 minutes by water taxi from Picton. 20 minutes by helicopter from Wellington. 20 minutes by Float plane from Paremata Inlet. 5 hrs walk from Ship Cove, the traditional start of the Queen Charlotte Track. Water taxis from Picton arrive at our jetty, Floatplanes and Helicopters on our beach. From Wellington you can catch a Cook Strait Ferry or a Sounds Air flight to Picton, hop on a Water Taxi, and either come direct to the No Road Inn or get dropped off at Ship Cove or Resolution Bay and walk some of the best of the Queen Charlotte Track to us.
