The region of Taranaki, a major farming and energy centre is particularly spectacular. Regular swells pound its numerous beach and point breaks. Mt Egmont towers above the lush green farming landscape. Skiers and snowboarders enjoy its slopes during the snow season while less than an hour away they can surf any day of the week in virtually any wind condition.
