Driving to Lake Wanaka 

Drive via Queenstown - The drive from Queenstown to Lake Wanaka takes approximately 1 hour via the scenic Cardrona Valley. Hire cars are available from Queenstown and Queenstown airport. Local shuttle bus/coach services operates out of Queenstown daily.

Dive via the West Coast - Lake Wanaka is about 2 hours drive from the township of Haast on the West Coast of the south island of New Zealand. It is a windy scenic drive. Highly recommended.

Drive from Christchurch - Shuttle bus services operate daily from Christchurch through the centre of the South Island via Mt Cook. The drive takes approximately 8 hours.
