Located by the bank of the Grey River in the heart of Greymouth, The main Gallery and Vault spaces display regular exhibitions of contemporary New Zealand painting, prints, photography, sculpture and crafts with an emphasis on local content.

Housed in a historic former Bank of New Zealand building, The Left Bank Art Gallery showcases the wealth of West Coast artistic talent.

The craft shop offers works in ceramics, wood, textiles, jewellery, jade and bone along with a selection of fine paintings and prints. The New Zealand Pounamu and Jade Collection showcases the country's finest collection of contemporary jade works selected from the biennial jade exhibition.

Special features include a magnificent carved entranceway depicting the Maori legend of Poutini and two spectacular carved jade boulders representing the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
