Based on the Waimakariri River, Jet Thrills has been showing thousands of overseas visitors and locals alike this awesome river and just what a Jet boat can do!

We can organise transport from the Christchurch area or you can make your own way out to the Jet Thrills launching ramp beside the river. How to find us: Travelling north on State Highway 1, take the first off-ramp after crossing the Waimakariri River. Turn right onto the Tram Road overbridge, then right again onto the Main North Road. Enter the Waimakariri Regional Park on the corner of Main North Road and Wrights Road (just after the Challenge Service Station), turn left into Hamilton Quay and follow it around to the right, until you get to the jet boat ramp beside the river.

Details

History: Jet boating began in New Zealand in 1954 among the small streams and channels that make the Waimakariri famous the country over for its difficult technical nature.
Further Information: The Waimakariri runs for 97 Kms across the Canterbury Plains meandering its way to the sea. It only takes 12 hours to cover this distance from the Gorge to the sea.
