Beginners will love the fact that Mt Dobson's learner slopes are bathed in sunlight all day long. As well as that, Mt Dobson is a refreshing change from the crowded slopes you may find elsewhere in NZ. The car park and base of Mt Dobson is the highest in NZ, at 1676m. The highest lift point is 2011m.

With regular snowfalls on its peaks and across the wide open slopes, Mt Dobson offers a fun skiing and snowboarding experience for everyone. From the well groomed slopes for the beginners & intermediates, through to the soft and smooth powder that will test the best. Mt Dobson offers a challenge for all levels of skiers and boarders.

The views are spectacular, many come to ski Mt Dobson to take advantage of the fact that from here, you can see the amazing colours of Lake Pukaki and Tekapo and the highest peaks of the land, Mt Cook and Mt Tasman. The mountain is owned and operated by a local Fairlie family.

Getting There: Just off the Queenstown/Christchurch highway, 11km west of Fairlie, 18km east of Lake Tekapo, Mt Dobson is a short 40 minute drive on a smooth mountain road, one of the easiest alpine roads in the country. There is plenty of parking on the mountain. Shuttle transport is available during weekends and holidays.
