The Tasman Glacier is the largest of several glaciers which flow south and east towards the Mackenzie Basin from the Southern Alps in New Zealand's South Island. The world-famous Tasman Glacier is 27km long and flows among the highest mountains in New Zealand.
Visit incredible ice caves, peer into deep crevasses (from a safe viewing point) and visit glacial canyons. The skyscrapper sized ice blocks are an amazing site.
The Tasman Glacier is 27 kilometres long and as much as three kilometres wide, and is entirely within the borders of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park.
