Local Area: Hanmer Springs is situated in a high country basin 385m above sea level, is only 135km from Christchurch, the International gateway to the South Island of New Zealand.
Features: The reserve is the township's main and best-known attraction. It has seven open air thermal pools, three sulphur pools and four private thermal pools. Other facilities include sauna and steam rooms, a freshwater heated pool, a large family activity pool with two waterslides, picnic area and licensed café.
