Situated in the middle of Tongariro National Park, Ruapehu Skifields and Whanganui National Park, Howard's Lodge is the ultimate start for all outdoor adventure enthusiasts.

The lodge offers a broad variety of accommodation ranging from budget rooms to ensuite rooms. Daily transport to the Tongariro Crossing and the 42 Traverse Mountain bike track, Rental of ski equipment, tramping boots and walking poles and mountain bikes.

Howard's Lodge boasts cosy lounges with log fire, SKY TV and pool table, Internet, phone, laundry, spa pool and sauna. Fully equipped kitchens.

I have been coming to Howards lodge for some 15 years, a couple of times with groups and I have encouraged others to use the facilities. Unfortunately I find the current management surly and unhelpful and the rooms not up to the standard suggested by the price ... Read More (Date of experience: Mar, 2011 )

For sure this is a nice enough place, but the staff are incredibly rude. It started before we even arrived, all inquiries were given abrupt responses and there is no attempt to assist customers or be helpful in anyway ... Read More
