Taupo is a Co-Educational Secondary School College catering for students from Years 9 - 13. The College is favoured by a well-qualified, experienced and committed staff who are able to use the excellent facilities and resources to meet the widely varying needs of all students.

The purpose of education at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College is to prepare our students intellectually, socially and emotionally to take their place as responsible members of the wider community.

Facilities: There are a number of specialised facilities available for student use in addition to general purpose classrooms: a new student centre to cater for all student welfare needs, a gymnasium, a recently upgraded learning resource centre including a well stocked library, reading room and study complex incorporating the latest computer technology, seven science laboratories, four full computer suites, a technology complex, an art block that features a hyperpod of computers with 'state of the art' design programmes, a large hall and stage, a performing arts centre which includes well equipped music suites. A large marae complex complements the College.
