Creel Lodge is situated on the famous Tongariro River in a comfortable garden setting, offering you high quality and affordable motel accommodation in an ideal location.

Creel Lodge Motel consists of 19 garden suites, comprising either one or two bedrooms. All suites have their own outdoor balconies encouraging you to dine outside among the fantails (a New Zealand native bird) and enjoy the native bush setting.

A recent new addition to the Lodge is 4 executive suites with airconditioning, double glazing, central heating, high quality furnishings, SKY/DVD, MP3 and private balcony with BBQ area.

The Creel Lodge Motel boasts its own private access to one of New Zealand's top fly-fishing rivers. The Tongariro River is open for fishing all year round, offering Steelhead (Rainbow) and Brown trout fishing 365 days a year. Creel Lodge is less than 1km from Turangi Township, which nestles at the Southern end of Lake Taupo, situated in the centre of New Zealand's North Island.

Further Information: Turangi and surrounding areas offer you a unique fishing experience, rivers and streams, back country fishing, plus both natural and man made lakes, some offering trophy fish. Creel Lodge and the Turangi region will excite and above all, make you want to come back, again and again.
Things to do: Fishing and river walks are at the bottom of Creels garden. Your access is through the private gate, so leave your car parked at your cabin and pop off to fish or walk . On your return enjoy a cup of tea or evening cocktail while in our park like gardens here at Creel. The Tongariro River is one of the worlds top Rainbow and Brown Trout rivers - open 365 days a year - Available to everyone for just the cost of a day license, come and fish in this great river a favorite of Zane Greys (Author Anglers Eldorado) Tongariro Crossing - Turangi is the closest town to the crossing, and located on SHW 1. Great restaurants, funky cafes, Ski in the Winter months June through October, and white water raft year round. The local climbing wall offers excellent facilities.
