Taupo Contract Bridge Club

Situated in the centre of the North Island on the shores of beautiful Lake Taupo, the Taupo Contract Bridge Club was formed in 1970 and the first playing session was held at the historic Lake Hotel on 9 September 1970.

Of the Committee elected at the first Annual General meeting on 24 November 1971, Colin Jackson is still a playing member. Other active members from the early days include Yope Van der Leden, Barbara Wright, Dorothy Abernethy, Cath Adams, Fred Tritt, Alison Jackson, Nicola Chapman, Frances Rankin and Nancy Gray.

Today, the Club has about 180 members and is affiliated to the New Zealand Contract Bridge Federation. It is the proud owner of purpose built Clubrooms overlooking the Taupo Golf Course.
