Taupo Native Plant Nursery

The Taupo Native Plant Nursery is located on a 20-hectare site on the northeast edge of Taupo township. Taupo Native Plant Nursery is a privately owned company that has been operating as a native plant nursery since 1961.

The nursery has been in existence for over 40 years now. It was part of the Department of Conservation, which was then required to grow and supply native plants for the restoration of scenic reserves, forest and national parks.

Taupo Native Plant Nursery was certainly the first specialist revegetation native plant nursery in New Zealand and has remained the leader in this field to the present day.

Today Taupo Native Plant Nursery produce over 1.7 million plants despatching them to destinations New Zealand wide.
