Blue Lake Walking Track is a circuit track around the Blue Lake which passes through both native and exotic forest. The track begins at the north-western corner of the Blue Lake reserve, at the far end of the beach.

From the Blue Lake Scenic Reserve, the track continues on through Kaingaroa Timberlands' Whakarewarewa Forest and then into District Council reserve, before emerging onto Tarawera Road.

Care should be taken particularly with children along this final roadside section back to the beach.
