The fabulous Lake Taupo - covering over 600 square kilometres, the lake and its adjoining rivers represent one of the last true wild trout fisheries in the world. An hours drive to the south is Mt Ruapehu, the site of the North Island's premier ski fields-Whakapapa and Turoa.

The Wairakei international golf club is close, as are hot pools fed by the natural thermal water of this volcanic region. Ironman, motor-sports, cycle challenges, sky-diving, trout fishing, skiing, golfing, bush-walking or just simply enjoying the spectacular scenery - Taupo has something for everyone.
