Ryukenkan Dojo

Ryukyu Kempo Karate is an ancient Okinawa Life Protection system. Ryukenkan Dojo is the New Zealand Headquarters for the United Ryukyu Kempo Alliance in New Zealand - URKA (NZ).

Ryukyu Kempo is primarily focused on the study and interpretation of Kata, which are, for the most part, solo forms (or patterns) of pre-defined motions which when analysed under the correct "microscope" reveal the secrets of the old masters themselves.

When a student studies an empty hand Kata in conjunction with weapons Kata, the two come together to teach some of the most advanced Life Protection skills available in the Martial Arts.
