Rippon Vineyard & Winery

As one of the pioneer grape growers and winemakers in Central Otago since 1974, Rolfe and Lois Mills fulfilled their dream of having a vineyard on their magnificent lakeside site. Nature works real magic at Rippon; the vineyard produces wines with an elegance and finesse that have received accolades both in New Zealand and abroad.

Through many years of empirical and scientific observation, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Gewurztraminer & Sauvignon Blanc quickly came to the fore as the varieties which are most suited to the Rippon site. The total area under vines is now 15 hectares with the majority of plantings in Pinot Noir and Riesling.
