Set in delightful gardens on the edge of Tauranga harbour, Katikati Bird Gardens is an extensive park featuring native, rare and endangered birds.
With a blend of formal and informal design, lily ponds, fountains and art; the gardens are an enchanting sight with year round colour and interest.
Over 50 varieties of birds can be found, roaming freely among the lawns and trees and in aviaries scattered through the gardens. These include New Zealand natives such as Keas, Teal, Kereru (Wood Pigeon) and Kotuku Ngutu Papa (Royal Spoonbill).
