Set in delightful gardens on the edge of Tauranga harbour, Katikati Bird Gardens is an extensive park featuring native, rare and endangered birds.

With a blend of formal and informal design, lily ponds, fountains and art; the gardens are an enchanting sight with year round colour and interest.

Over 50 varieties of birds can be found, roaming freely among the lawns and trees and in aviaries scattered through the gardens. These include New Zealand natives such as Keas, Teal, Kereru (Wood Pigeon) and Kotuku Ngutu Papa (Royal Spoonbill).

Restaurant/Bar
The Bird Gardens terrace cafe serves quality food and drink. There are tables and seating for 52 overlooking the main lawn and lily ponds. A variety of catering options are available for groups including morning or afternoon teas and light lunches.
Facilities
The art gallery hosts exhibitions by local artists and there is a gift shop selling quality local crafts and plants. There are picnic and BBQ facilities in the gardens. Bus parking is available directly outside the main entrance.
