Visit the remains of the Greenpeace vessel ´The Rainbow Warrior´. Bombed in Auckland Harbour by French Secret Service Agents on July 10, 1985, it was re-floated and relocated to the Cavalli Islands in 1987 and is now home to an array of fish and other marine life.

Northlands East Coast offers a plethora of other diving options, including some historical artificial reefs. ´The Tui´, a New Zealand Navy survey ship, was purposely sunk off the Tutukaka coast in early 1999 to provide a new diving experience and has recently been joined by ´The Waikato´.

The Bay of Islands also offers a variety of soft coral and sponges that adorn local reefs, along with colourful reef fish and various species of rays and eels. In depths ranging from 5 to 35 metres and visibility of 10 to 30 metres you will find lava flows, volcanic reefs, boulders, pinnacles, canyons, tunnels and caves.
