Go back in time in our 1970's very retro, NZ bachy home in a fun kiwi spot . Downstairs comfortably sleeps 7 + 5 camping or bunking in.

There's an East Bush Front 5 bed dorm room & the North courtyard double room, with its own external access to a fully fenced courtyard . Pull out sofa/beds, Freeview T.V's DVD's and video players and a DVD/video library available.

Easily accessible to indoor/outdoor communal area, the tree shaded courtyard has gas barbecue etc. Also basic cooking equipment in the rumpus room, computer speakers for your ipod, table soccer etc, with an adjoining T.V. & games den. Both of these rooms open on to the courtyard & with TV cabinet on wheels its easily positioned to view from outside through the ranch slider from this den.

Maintained beach access between our backyard sand dune shipwreck & next door's lifeguard lookout tower, opposite bush walks.

Local Area: On your scenic descent into Pihas little village, making no turn offs, travel past the Piha Store and Piha Cafe, (downtown Piha), keeping as close as possible to the sand and surf, follow this road which has a beach view (about a kilometre of road has a sea view on your left) and youll come to Barnett Hall and look for our accommodation sign right on the beach too
Location: Piha beach is 20 minutes from urban Waitakere city or West Auckland. With the old Waitakere Tramline or a visit to Oratia Folk Museum on the way to Piha beach or Arataki Visitors information centre set in the 18 000 hectaires of the Waitakere Ranges regional park, containing 250 kms of bush walks/tracks, bordered with rural farmlets & rugged west coast beaches, ovelooking the damn, teaching us about this unique area. Also there is a large Yugoslav, Croation community. You find many roads named after this group of people, they are responsible for many great vineyards, wineries and some of the fresh produce in these parts. There is also larger shopping malls & international standard public pools in West Wave. Piha is 45 minutes from Auckland city & Auckland International airport.

Things to do: Right on the beach between the lifeguard flags for swimming & boogie boarding. many bush walks opposite, Canyoning, night canyoning/glow worm tour, abseilling & boogie boarding tours. We have kites beach toys, table soccer, games & videos/DVDs. Bring a bike, land yacht Piha's quite flat within the foothills & at low tide the sand's hard. Ideal for families. Heading south its a flat sandy walk, from our back yard, along part of the approximately 3 km beach to take away bar, store, caf, R.S.A, etc and the other surf club at Piha Beach the Piha Surf Life Saving Club, home of the popular T.V. show Piha Rescue, (Piha Surf Club is available for meals and also a licensed bar, unlike United North Piha Surf Club).
