A quaint country cottage in the increasingly popular rural township of Mangaweka. Offers Bed & Continental Breakfast style accommodation. Just 15 minutes south of Taihape, and an hour south of the Mt Rupehu Ski Fields. Only an hours drive from Palmerston North and Wanganui.

There are plenty of interesting attractions in Mangaweka township. Some of these are the fantastic art gallery in an old church right next door, a cafe in an elevated DC 3 aircraft, a great tavern serving good value hearty meals, walking tracks along the old rail line, river rafting adventures, and just a ten minute drive up the road an exhilarating & frightening flying fox and bungy jump from a bridge into the Rangitikei river canyon.

An ideal place to lay your head for a day or two of relaxing & exploring, or as a restful stop off on the way to or from the Volcanoes ski fields.

Details

Getting There
We are conveniently located, in the historic and blossoming Mangaweka township, on the left hand side of State Highway One, as you head south from Taihape, just after entering the township. Look for the yellow church building of Mangaweka Gallery and we are right next door to there. On or off road parking available.
Special Events
3 weekly "solo" artists exhibitions in Mangaweka Gallery, housed in a beutifull turn of the century church, are held right next door to the Mangaweka Homestay. A must for anyone with an intrest in emerging and not so-new artists from the land of the long white cloud. Dig it. We will update this as and when the xhibitions are booked. Currently there is a "screen-print" effect photographic exhibition planned to open on the 25th of November featuring the work of Richard Aslett. This is followed in December by a travel exhibition "Tavlin Thru" by renouned Palmerston North photographer Rudyard Yapp. Like i say keep hooked in for details. Too many to mention here. Chow.
