Oakura Beach Holiday Park is located 15km west of New Plymouth and situated right on the Oakura Beach with all cabins and most of the camp sites having sea views. Oakura Beach is popular for swimming, surfing and windsurfing. The village has several excellent art & craft boutiques, cafes, restaurants and bars.
From the camp you can wander through the reserve with the beach on one side and native bush on the other, past the Gaerloch shipwreck and beyond. For the more adventurous, there are several walks up into the Kaitake ranges just a few minutes drive away.
The village of Oakura is small & friendly - rated for its Arts & Crafts and wonderful food. If fine dining is for you then you should not miss a meal at Wunderbar - just a short walk from the camp. Central to several popular surf spots up and down the coast - why not take a lesson with our local surf school (summer months only) - you're guaranteed to get up! Incidentally the beach has a patrolled area run by the surf club during the summer.
