The Flying Fox

Situated 45 minutes north of Whanganui City at Koriniti on the Whanganui River Road, The Flying Fox overlooks the Whanganui River and is surrounded by the native forest of the Whanganui National Park.

There are only two ways to arrive, either by aerial cableway above the river, or by river taxi or canoe. Guests stay in either of two self-contained cottages built of recycled and natural materials overlooking the river. Alternatively, a campsite is provided in a secluded clearing.

Self catering facilities are provided or your friendly hosts can cook for you, using organic and locally sourced ingredients as much as possible. Canoeing, jet boating and walking tracks are nearby.
