The Black & White Hotel is a touch of living Kiwi history with 12 guestrooms, set in a pre-war building dating back to the 1860s. Relatively self-contained rooms range from single (with shared facilities) to twin and double rooms with ensuite. Enjoy a drink at the bar, quality Kiwi food in our popular Cafe and try your skills in the TAB.

Things to do: Westport, where the locals are friendly, is big enough that it has a choice of visitor facilities, and small enough that you can walk between most of them. The Buller District boasts spectacular coastal scenery, beautiful beaches, rivers and bush walks. Relics of a bygone era, such as the historic townships of Denniston and Charleston and Westport's Coaltown Museum are a must to visit. The Cape Foulwind Seal Colony and the famous pancake rocks at Punakaiki are an easy drive south. The Oparara Limestone Arch, the Honeycombe Caves and the Heaphy Track are at Karamea a couple of hours drive north. For the more adventureous there are white-water rafting, Jet boating, horse trekking, jet skiing, underworld rafting, great surfing beaches and fishing to name a few.
