Wainui Backpackers and Lodge is situated on the shore of a private bay in the Bay of Islands. A short distance from Opua, the lodge provides a restful retreat from city hostels.

If you are looking for relaxed and friendly accomodation on the waterfront, you are welcome in our new backpacker lodge. The small hostel on the Russell side of the Bay of Islands is set in regenerating native bush, and the private beach is perfect for fishing from the shore or the lodge dinghy, swimming or kayaking. Prepare meals in the modern kitchen or on the BBQ and dine either indoors, on the patio or in the garden at the picnic tables. Bathroom facilities are clean and modern, and guests can stay in contact with your friends and family through the internet access.

Take the Bay of Islands tours from Russell, explore the eastern bays or just relax. Te Wahapu Road is 3km towards Russell from the Opua-Okiato vehicular ferry or 5km from Russell.
