Matai Lodge BBH Backpackers Hostel

Matai Lodge is Ohakune's largest (80-bed) backpacker hostel, which, is open all year round.

The hostel provides various forms of accommodation, from single to double. There are shared kitchen and bathroom facilities and all bedding is provided, however, towels must be hired.

Facilities include two fully equipped kitchens, dining and lounge areas with pool table and X-Box, 2 TV rooms with multi-language satellite TV, home theatre system with free DVDs and videos, drying room, central heating, fires. Matai Lodge is situated 50m from town centre and the residence provides an in-house shuttle service to Tongariro and Whanganui National Parks, Tongariro Crossing and ski fields in winter season.
