Freestone Backpackers Hostel offers five cosy self contained, timber chalets, all with wood burner heaters, set on 10 acres of tree studded hillside, with BBQ area. Chalets have spectacular views of surrounding mountains and Lake Manapouri (judged most beautiful by Lonely Planet).
Local activities include Doubtful and Milford Sound cruises, kayaking, Kepler track 8km away, great local tracks.
