The Hostel is located approximately 4kms south of Nelson with a bus stop outside the door, free use of bikes and free pickups and dropoffs from Nelson and the airport. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars within a few hundred metres of the hostel and a pub and bottle shop opposite. Tahunanui also offers mini golf, a hydroslide, go karts, a rollerblade rink, tennis courts and Natureland all within the parks behind the beach.
