The Mountain House is tucked away on the slopes of magnificent Mt Egmont/Taranaki, making it an ideal base for mountain walks. Your Swiss host and chef Berta Anderson has lived on this beautiful mountain for over 30 years and loves to share the magic of the mountain with all her guests.

The lodge houses 10-bedrooms, family units and a la carte licensed restaurant, with an extensive game menu. The restaurant overlooks a floodlit bush setting with mountain vistas, ideal for romantic meals for two.

The lounge has a cosy log fire to keep you warm on those chilly winter nights or you can take advantage of the sauna and spa pool and soothe away all your aches and pains and come out feeling refreshed and revitalised after a day on the ski fields.
