Hastings Backpackers was set up around 10 years ago as the first working hostel in Hawke's bay for tourists working in the orchids.
There is a range of accommodation, including dorms, share, twins, doubles and singles between $17-$23.
Hastings Backpackers provide a free video library, free book-exchange, table tennis, darts and BBQ to entertain guests after work.
