    Braemar House YHA is a comfortable centrally heated YHA Hostel situated at the back of the Historic B&B homestead. The Hostel is located in sub tropical gardens (where we also offer camping facilities.)

    Wireless broadband is available throughout the complex. Full laundry services. Large commercial kitchen, with dining area and separate TV/reading lounge.

    Four berth and six berth airy dorms are located in the main house, while the private rooms both twin and double and several family rooms are located to the rear of the complex. Off street parking in the grounds.

    Local Area
    A region with a lot of history and evolving tourist attractions. Ride the Steam driven River boat on the mighty Whanganui River. Check out the surf casting at nearby beaches of castlecliff (suburb) and further up the coast at kai-iwi. Visit the famous saturday markets selling organic produce etc. Go walkiing or trekking in the many walks and gardens all surrounding the region. Wanganui is only 1 hours drive from the volcanic plateau and ski fields.

    Camping and campervan sites available. Not suitable for pets. See management about picking your own fruit when trees are in season, or check out the organic garden with both vegetables and herbs available.
