Waihi Beach Lodge, located just 2 hours from Auckland, has three ensuite king bedrooms and a modern studio apartment with its own private bathroom, laundry and kitchen. The apartment can be part of the B & B or self-catering. All rooms have sea views with the studio apartment view coming from one of its two decks.

All the rooms have TV, DVD, fridge, easy chairs, tea & coffee making facilities, beach towels, toiletries, bathrobes plus flowers, fresh fruit & chocolates on arrival. Gourmet breakfast is included in the tariff.

The lodge is just one hundred and fifty metres from 9 kilometres of white sandy beach, where you can read a book, sit in the sun, swim, surf, boogie board or go for a snorkel. From the lodge you can relax on the deck and experience the sea views, read a book or just watch the world go by.

Packages are available for Honeymooners and couples with that special anniversary or romantic weekend away.Mid week break packages are also available.

Further Information: For evening meals there are 6 cafes at the beach along with a sportfishing & boating club, pub and RSA. In summer the RSA, boating club and pub have a pick up and drop off facility for guests. Our guests have commented that the food at the cafes is better than they get in their own countries cafes and is very good value for money. Most guests enjoy the fresh seafood and local produce available. You can walk down the beach to a cafe and have lunch or walk to a cafe and have a coffee watching small planes taking off and landing.Also within driving distance there is a cafe at water lilly gardens near the Karangahake Gorge and a cafe at the Waikino railway station - train rides also available. Near by Morten Estate vineyard has a restaurant attached 25 minutes drive from Waihi Beach
Further Information: Activities at the beach include walks in the near by Karangahape gorge or over to Orakawa Bay at the northern end of the beach, fishing both inner and outer harbour along with fresh water river fishing in the Ohinemuri River. There are 5 golf courses with in 40 minutes drive and also there are 3 wineries within a half hour drive. Each winery has a cafe attached and they are open 7 days. A visit to the Martha gold mine in Waihi is a must as is a look at the pumphouse in the main street of Waihi. Swimming with the dolphins can be arranged in Tauranga - weather permitting, as can tandem skydiving. Day trips to Coromandel, Rotorua and Waitomo are easily planned as we have good knowledge of the roads, distances and times as well as the best places and activities to see.
