Located on the banks of the Whanganui River offering affordable yet superior accommodation for business or pleasure, just a short drive from the city centre and the ideal base to explore the many attractions the Wanganui District has to offer or for those wishing to enjoy a day skiing on the Whakapapa or Turoa ski fields on Mt Ruapehu.

Relaxation areas are plentiful both inside and outside the Lodge, with warm and sunny areas to sit and relax inside, and a waterfall and fountain to provide piece and harmony in the garden out back in a resort like setting. We offer in-house licensed facilities in a relaxed and comfortable environment

The town is abound with historic buildings preserved from the early days of European settlement along with beautiful parks and gardens. The Whanganui River is New Zealand's longest navigable river. As one of the earliest locations of Maori occupation, the Whanganui River valley is rich in Maori history and culture. The 100 year old Paddle Steamer "Waimarie" is moored on the Whanganui River close to the centre of town, with regular cruises available throughout the summer season. Rich in Art and Culture, Wanganui has long been recognised as a centre of cultural excellence.
