Far North Outback Adventures

Join Phil Cross, long-time resident and adventurer of New Zealand's top end, on a fully escorted tour of Northland. Phil only takes groups of five at a time, enabling access to remote places away from the tourist route, on his Far North Outback Adventures.

Tours with Far North Outback Adventures depart Kaitaia and Ahipara around 9am, returning around 5pm, weather and tide dependent. Groups travel in the comfort of an air-conditioned Nissan 4WD, with the chance to swap to horses along the way. On horseback or foot is the only way to reach some destinations on the tour, but if horses aren't your thing, a more accessible option may be chosen instead.

Journey along 90 Mile Beach to Cape Reinga, a truly spectacular and spiritually significant part of New Zealand. Stop to toboggan down massive sand dunes, observe marine birdlife, and learn of the Maori's connection to this beautiful area. Touch kauri logs 30-50 thousand years old, and visit beaches only a select few, including Phil, may access.
