Paddle our 45ft traditional Waka Taua (Maori war canoe) on a tidal river estuary teaming with fish and other wild life, where the riverside landscapes and hills are cloaked in an explosion of beautiful and exotic colors from the native flora and fauna and the trees sing to the chorus sounds of native birds exchanging notes, then with out warning our Waka arrives at the foot of the sacred Haruru water falls an ancient spiritual place to local Maori since the beginning of time. After interpretaions and exclusive photo opportunites the journey continues untill the we arrive at our Marae (sacred place of of worship). Nestled among native bush on the banks of the river, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the local beachside tourist town of Paihia. Spend the hext 30 minutes soaking up the atmosphere of this sacred and spiritual place before embarking on a 25 minute return voyage to Paihia - Waitangi.
