Footprints Waipoua, a locally owned and operated venture in association with The Copthorne Hotel & Resort Hokianga provides guided day and night walks of the largest kauri forest in the world.

Visitors have the opportunity to connect, view, listen and learn about the kauri forest and trees in New Zealand, through local indigenous guides who willingly share their ecological knowledge and use relevant Maori stories and song to enlighten and enhance this tranquil and ancient location.

The objective of Footprints local Maori guides is to share interactive and educational eco and cultural (protocol, language, legends, songs, instruments) knowledge to bring the Waipoua forest to LIFE.

Crossings Hokianga the next step (Nov 06), will be a guided boat cruise of the historically significant Hokianga harbour, generally accepted as being the first residential place of Kupe, New Zealand's first discoverer 1000 years ago and home to early European settlements.
