The Whanganui River begins at the mountains and ends at the mouth of the Tasman Sea. You are welcome to explore this timeless River and all its beauty in one of New Zealand's most breathtaking National Parks. Be hosted along the way by Tangata Whenua (People of the Land).
Journey on the Whanganui Awa in a Waka (Canadian canoe). The 6 people Waka is made to cut through the water for a smoother, faster and safer ride. Great fun for groups and families as there is less paddling and less work. Your Maori guide will steer you down the awa safely entertaining you with their typical Maori humour.
