An exciting museum with audio, visual and photographic displays on the history of the industrial development of the Buller region. The displays include: coalmining in a true-to-life coal mine, 20 ton brake drums used to control the Q wagons used on the Denniston incline, and one of the Q wagons suspended at the amazing 45 degree angle of the incline. A movie on coal mining through out the region, is also viewable.
Other displays include: saw milling, transport, maritime, mineral, and brewery exhibits. Coaltown Museum is designed to be a "hands on" experience, not to be missed.
