Reefton i-SITE Visitor Centre staff are more than happy to share their experience and local knowledge, giving visitors great local and national information. In addition to the booking services, the centre also hosts several really interesting exhibits; there are interactive displays and an underground mine tunnel. You can walk through the Beech Alive display, listening and learning about the native bird life, discover the Inanga in the aquarium and operate the winding engine.
Reefton, the Coast's only inland town is nestled in the Inangahua River valley between the rugged and spectacular Victoria and Paparoa ranges. It is centrally located at a hub of state highway access into the Coast, north from Murchison, Nelson and Blenheim and east from Christchurch. The highway system also offers easy access further north up the West Coast to Westport and Karamea, and south to Greymouth and South Westland.
