Staff can give you up to date details about the skifields, tramping conditions and activities on the Whanganui River. Located on the southern slopes of Mt Ruapehu at the southern gateway to the Tongariro World Heritage Park, Ohakune is the apres ski capital of New Zealand's North Island. It is the closest town to the Turoa ski area.
