The Kauri Bowl Gallery provides an exclusive niche market with exceptional quality bowls, platters, and sculptural works of art created by wood turner Greg Brownie, that remain a source of inspiration to owners throughout their lifetime.
Greg recovers the Kauri himself and can show you the process from the swamp to the finished article. Pieces are crafted from a variety of New Zealand native timbers but Greg focuses on Kauri to fashion articles that are not just functional but art pieced in their own right. Much of the material used has been carbon dated at more than 45,000 years.
Greg also does commission work on request.
