A boutique winery situated in the valley of Waipara; 'wai' means water and 'para' means sediment in the Maori language, Waipara therefore translates as Muddy Water. These wines are hand crafted and made without compromise. Just as the name reflects the place, the wines reflect their vineyards. Muddy Water Fine Wines vineyards are situated on sunny slopes above the Waipara Valley in North Canterbury. Protected by a range of coastal hills, the Waipara area has a climate distinct from the rest of Canterbury.

Wines produced include: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinotage and Syrah.
