An amazing day set amongst New Zealand's highest mountains, in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. Ski The Tasman involves two guided runs of up to 8kms through breathtaking scenery. The Tasman Saddle is the longest ski run of the two in the southern hemisphere, dropping you on the top of the glacier then cruising untracked snow, stopping for a visit to explore the ice caves before being picked up by ski plane which takes you to a new landing area for a delicious picnic lunch before starting the second run.
The flight in itself is something special. With icy peaks of the Main Divide, hanging glaciers, and icefalls providing a spectacular backdrop.
A range of local accommodation is available in Aoraki/Mt Cook alpine village, offering a wonderful escape from the busy ski towns and a nice retreat after a days adventure.
